On the 26th of August 2022, Novus³ was invited to participate in the Institute of Municipal Engineering of South Africa’s (IMESA) Northern Provinces Branch seminar and AGM. The theme this year was: “Adapting to our changing world”.

The purpose of the seminar was to demonstrate innovative solutions in various fields relevant to the municipal environment and to show how these innovations can assist municipalities to adapt and improve.

Novus³ presented a framework for innovation in the context of the Local government Accountability Cycle (LGAC) with a specific focus on the CP³ system that is used by the City of Tshwane and others (colloquially called ‘CAPS’ by Tshwane officials). The audience was taken through the ways in which the system has assisted municipalities to automate and simplify the complex legislated processes associated with the LGAC and the associated capital planning and budgeting process and the subsequent in-year reporting processes. It was demonstrated how each component of the accountability cycle was measured against selected innovation criteria to assess how the CP³ system has improved the ways in which the City approaches the LGAC.

There are various testimonials from officials that this innovative and groundbreaking solution does not only represent an improvement but has proven to be essential for responsible and sustainable governance at a municipal level, in full compliance with the LGAC’s intended outcomes.

Over the past five years, Novus³ established itself as a specialist company that has undertaken a number of high-profile studies both locally and internationally and are looking forward to staying on this growth path. Furthermore, Novus³ has developed elegant software solutions that continue to propel some of the most dynamic public sector entities forward.

Novus³’s ethos is to understate and over deliver on everything we get involved with. Even outside of our working hours, we remain ambassadors of our brand.
